The Walnut Café was established in Boulder, CO in February of 1983. Dana Derichsweiler took the reins in 1985 and has been there to this day. In 2005 Dana and Julia Buonanno partnered up and opened the Walnut’s sister restaurant the South Side Walnut Café, located in South Boulder. Dana, Julia and Nicole Plotkin opened the newest in the Walnut family in Lafayette, the Super Mini Walnut Café, in 2011.
